Copyright / DMCA Policy
Last Updated: 6/25/2026
World of Ideas, LLC ("we", "us", or "our"), the operator of Podshot, respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects users of the Service to do the same. In accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act of 1998 (the "DMCA"), we will respond to claims of copyright infringement that are properly reported to our designated copyright agent.
Podshot does not host original podcast audio. The app accesses third-party podcast directories, APIs, and publicly available RSS feeds, and streams audio from third-party sources. Users may also create their own notes, summaries, transcript snippets, and "Podshots". If you believe content available through Podshot infringes your copyright, please follow the process below.
1. Filing a DMCA Notice
If you are a copyright owner, or an agent authorized to act on behalf of one, and you believe that any content available through Podshot infringes your copyright, you may submit a notification to our designated copyright agent (below) providing the following information in writing:
- A physical or electronic signature of the person authorized to act on behalf of the owner of the copyright that has allegedly been infringed;
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed (for example, the podcast title and episode);
- Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing or to be the subject of infringing activity, with information reasonably sufficient to allow us to locate the material on Podshot (for example, the episode URL, the podshot share link, or the transcript URL);
- Information reasonably sufficient to permit us to contact you, such as an address, telephone number, and electronic mail address;
- A statement that you have a good faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law; and
- A statement that the information in the notification is accurate, and, under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.
Please note that, under Section 512(f) of the DMCA, any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material or activity is infringing may be liable for damages. We may also forward your notice (including your contact information) to the user who provided the material.
2. Designated Copyright Agent
Send DMCA notices and counter-notifications to our designated copyright agent:
We have registered our designated agent with the U.S. Copyright Office DMCA Designated Agent Directory.
3. Counter-Notification
If you believe that material you posted to Podshot was removed or disabled by mistake or misidentification, you may file a counter-notification by providing our designated copyright agent with the following information in writing:
- Your physical or electronic signature;
- Identification of the material that has been removed or to which access has been disabled, and the location at which the material appeared before it was removed or access to it was disabled;
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief that the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification of the material to be removed or disabled; and
- Your name, address, and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the judicial district in which your address is located, or, if your address is outside of the United States, for any judicial district in which Podshot may be found, and that you will accept service of process from the person who provided the original notification or an agent of such person.
If a counter-notification is received by our designated agent, we may send a copy of it to the original complaining party, informing them that we may replace the removed material or cease disabling it. Unless the copyright owner files an action seeking a court order against the user, the removed material may be replaced, or access to it restored, in 10 to 14 business days after receipt of the counter-notification, at our sole discretion.
4. Repeat Infringer Policy
In accordance with the DMCA and other applicable law, Podshot has adopted a policy of terminating, in appropriate circumstances and at our sole discretion, the accounts of users who are deemed to be repeat infringers. A "repeat infringer" is a user who has been the subject of three (3) or more valid copyright takedown notices within any 90-day period.
Podshot may also, at our sole discretion, limit access to the Service and/or terminate the accounts of any users who infringe the intellectual property rights of others, whether or not there is any repeat infringement.
5. Creators — Removal and Opt-Out
If you are a podcast creator and would like to request attribution, opt in, or remove your content from being accessed via Podshot, you may contact us at tech@podshot.ai or use the process above. We also honor standard machine-readable feed signals (such as the Podcasting 2.0 <podcast:locked> and <podcast:block> tags) where present.
6. Trademark and Other Concerns
For complaints unrelated to copyright (such as trademark, right of publicity, defamation, or privacy concerns), please use our content removal form at podshot.ai/report-content or contact us at tech@podshot.ai.
7. Relationship to Our Terms
This Copyright / DMCA Policy supplements and is incorporated into our Terms of Use. Your use of Podshot is also governed by our Privacy Policy.
